Yoga and Reiki
Yesterday morning I stopped by the Urban Zen Integrative Therapist (UZIT) training to follow-up on our First degree Reiki class that took place in February 2009. After our Q&A, Richard Rosen, Colleen Saidman, and I led the students through a practicum, setting up their partners in restorative poses to help with pain or facilitate breathing, and placing Reiki hands. The spacious room filled to the brim with pulsing, healing silence.
Urban Zen is a non-profit organization founded by Donna Karan to raise awareness and inspire change. Her three target areas are well-being/health care, preserving indigenous culture, and empowering children. The yearlong UZIT program was launched this year in NYC. I am thrilled to be the Reiki master on faculty.

Any chance of the Medical Reiki Training classes coming to Massachusetts in the future?
Thanks for asking, Jennifer. I am always happy to discuss the possibility of bringing the Medical Reiki class to other locations if there is someone local to help organize the logistics.
It’s amazing what draws us to look at something at any given time. Over the past week, I have been thinking of starting up my yoga practice again (specifically, this coming Tuesday, LOL — I’m planning ahead!).
It has been a few years since I have consistently practiced. So of course I found myself backtracking to the beginning of the blogs. Your comments above reminded me of the last year I was practicing yoga daily, and I was also practicing Reiki daily, and I was aware of the Reiki coming into the breath, the postures, the yoga mind. No wonder, as I deepen my current Reiki practice, that I am drawn to go back to yoga, as well! Thank you.
