Reiki Is Simple

simple Reiki self careReiki is simple. Very simple. Self care doesn’t get any easier.

Hands on, you’re practicing Reiki. Hands off, practice over.

The simplicity of this self care practice as brought from Japan by Hawayo Takata in the 1930s is one of Reiki’s greatest gifts. Balance delivered by your own hands.

Quick response. Effective self practice at your fingertips.

Simple self care, or no self care

Of course, you can make your Reiki self care practice as complicated as you want.

But why do that?

The more complicated your practice, the less likely you are to reach for it every day. And practicing every day is how you get the most benefit. Don’t you need balance every day? And sometimes many times a day?

The best self care program in the world is no good if you don’t actually follow it.

Simple Reiki practice gets done

Keep simplicity an option. Life is complicated. Practicing Reiki doesn’t have to be.

  1. Thank you, Pamela! It seems many teachers want to add so much extra random stuff in classes to make it more interesting. I keep picking through all the strings my first teacher threw in and unlearning the unnecessary bits. I love the simplicity of just doing Reiki, nothing complicated. It’s beautiful and refreshing and healing. Thank you!

    1. I think Reiki teachers who add things do so because they haven’t practiced long enough before starting to teach. They want to give their students every advantage, but wind up creating unnecessary distractions.

Students come to Reiki class to learn how to practice Reiki. When we focus on a simple, doable practice and include class and at-home practice, students leave confident they can practice, and inspired to continue practicing self-Reiki every day.

  2. Hi Pamela. Your article is so refreshing and very much in tune with how I feel about Reiki. My Reiki practice is super simple. I love this. I love that I simply put my hands on and Reiki flows. However, my Reiki practice is not boring or superficial. It is full of richness and depth and has kept me ‘fascinated’ by what I learn and feel, every single treatment. I think that the simplicity of Reiki practice is valuable given that life seems so complicated at times. Best wishes to you for a wonderful and joyful festive season Pamela.

    1. I agree, Coralea, a simple practice is not at all boring or superficial. The simplicity of the structure allows for the depth of the experience to shine.
