REIKI RESEARCH PAPERS
This page is being built and is currently incomplete. In the meantime, perhaps it will be of help.
The purpose of this Medical Reiki research page is to help Reiki practitioners and healthcare professionals interested in Reiki practice understand what medical Reiki research has been done and what needs to be done. I’ll also post papers of interest that aren’t necessarily Medical Reiki research.
The Effect of Reiki on Quality of Life for Blood Cancer Patients
Effect of Reiki Healing on Breast Cancer Patients
The concept for this study, looking at whether Reiki treatment helps breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, is sound, but including aura measurement hurts it. If only it had been done with only conventionally accepted measurements.
REIKI REVIEWS
Jahantigh et al Reiki Literature Review 2021
Bioenergy therapies as a complementary treatment: a systematic review to evaluate the efficacy of bioenergy therapies in relieving treatment toxicities in patients with cancer 2022
Conclusion: Considering the methodical limitations of the included studies, studies with high study quality could not find any difference between bioenergy therapies and active (placebo, massage, RRT, yoga, meditation, relaxation training, companionship, friendly visit) and passive control groups (usual care, resting, education). Only studies with a low study quality were able to show significant effects. (Bolding mine)
