Hi Pamela! This was very moving. Thank you for sharing the video. I have so much respect for you. Your pioneering work and compassionate heart for those so desperately in need of compassionate support is breathtaking. Pardon the expression It seems to me that you have been doing “Gods Work” for a very long time. You are a true blessing in this world.
Much love and gratitude to you for all you are and do. ??????
This was very interesting to watch. I like how you said while you were practicing on the table that everyone should practice on themselves. Thank you for sharing. They also said Reiki is an ancient healing practice but it was started in the 1920s
I wanted the students to practice as much as possible while we were together, and having them self practice while I demonstrated table treatment also seemed like a good way to keep their attention, as many were feeling poorly.
I also winced at “ancient” but that’s a common bit of misinformation. I think it started as a misunderstanding of a comment Mrs. Takata occasionally made that Reiki was written about in Buddhist scriptures. She was referring to the state rather than to the practice, which as you said was started in the mid 1920s by Mikao Usui.
Oh my, this was emotionally moving. I had forgotten how powerful even just the act of putting hands on AIDS patients was, given the social panic at the time. And this was years, more than a decade at least, before I learned Reiki myself.
