I like simple. I like portable.
I love walking in the city, arms swinging, camera in hand, a small handbag with a few essentials slung across my body.
And the Reiki Precepts in my mind.
Do not worry,
Do not anger.
Be kind to others.
Usui called those pithy gems his Secret to Inviting Happiness, the Spiritual Medicine for all illness.
What could be simpler in expression, or richer in understanding? Not a moment in the day lies outside their purview.
And some days we need simpler.
That’s when I stay with Be kind to others. All the Reiki Precepts are contained therein.
Be kind to others
When we are kind to others, we have set aside worry and anger, and reached within to our true nature. Having found that inner spaciousness, we share its glory with others.
And as we revel in it ourselves, the day changes.
The alchemy of kindness transforms everything.
Your happiness secret
Try it. Simple kindness, not looking for acknowledgement. Your happiness secret with yourself.
Not feeling it? No problem! Even if you’re not feeling particularly kind (and maybe especially when you’re not), try making an action of kindness. Then let your awareness settle into your state. See what happens.
Let’s run a Reiki community experiment. Try a moment of kindness, and leave a comment sharing how it shifts your state.
Reiki Precepts Happiness Gift
Usui called his Reiki Precepts the “Secret to Inviting Happiness.” Would you like to be happier?
I have a gift for you, a gift that will make you happy, and help you stay that way.
I have three weeks of short daily emails to start your day with Reiki Precepts inspiration. They are waiting for you to say, “Yes, I choose happiness!”
If starting your day for the next three weeks by inviting happiness sounds good to you, click here to get your free gift. Let’s encircle the globe with simple, daily Reiki Precepts awareness.
Practicing daily self Reiki makes it easier to practice the Reiki Precepts by opening an experience of inner spaciousness, but anyone can practice the Reiki Precepts, not only Reiki practitioners. Everyone is welcome to the happiness emails, whether or not you are Reiki-trained.
Deepen your Reiki practice in retreat
What are you making more important than your happiness?
What is it costing you to not be as happy as you could be, right now?
And what is it costing the people you love?

How wonderful! Today a complete stranger showed me a simple act of kindness when I was struggling to communicate with someone in Spanish (NOT my first language!) He helped me out and resolved the problem, patted my arm and went on his way. After I was thinking how little acts of kindness can have a butterfly effect on the world, my whole day was changed and for those in contact with me and for those in contact with them, and so on. I decided to try to be more aware and show simple acts of kindness, a smile, a compliment etc. Then I saw this post and thought “perfect synchronicity!”
Thank you Pamela!
And thank you, Amanda, for the kindness to share the kindness you received — Brava!
